( ) I personally love bees, so this book was very fun to read! This book is a great way to introduce children to pollination, and to the importance of bees as pollinators. It also helps children to see bees as helpful, rather than harmful. The pictures are very engaging, and Bea is a fun character. She is naturally curious, and this encourages children to be curious and inquisitive, too. Children will learn that bees are a necessary part of nature; without bees, there would be a lot of negative consequences. In this book, Bea engages in scientific inquiry; she makes an observation, researches, problem solves and creates a solution. This is a great book for early elementary children, as it is simultaneously entertaining and educational. I would use this book before doing a hands on pollination activity, or when talking about food chains. A simply wonderful story of little Bea and her quest to bring the bees back. They have left after someone cut down their flowers. So she does her research, creates a school project and starts to bring the bees back to her tree. We need more books like this. It will be in a favorite rotation in my library for a long time to come. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
Beatrix discovers a wild bumblebee nest on her way home from school and finds herself drawn to their busy world. When her bees mysteriously disappear, Bea hatches a plan to bring them back. Can Bea inspire her school and community to save the bees? Bees provide us with valuable resources, and some types of bees are in danger of disappearing forever. But ordinary people (and kids!) can help save them. Filled with fascinating facts about bumblebees and ideas to help preserve their environment, Bea's bees encourages kids to help protect bees and other pollinators.
