(2003)Another very good/well written mystery. Simon & Deborah St. James try to figure out who killed a Guernsey Islander when her best friend from California is implicated. Lynley makes cameo, the St. James's are main guys in this one. Turns out her friend was murderer and she blows herself up in the end.
Deborah St James is verbijsterd wanneer ze op een stormachtige avond de broer van een oude vriendin uit Amerika op haar stoep aantreft. Helemaal wanneer hij haar vertelt dat zijn zus op het Engelse kanaaleiland Guersney is opgepakt wegens moord.
Ottimo romanzo, che stavolta ha come protagonisti St.James e la moglie Deborah. Non un capolavoro della George ma nemmeno un flop come alcuni altri suoi recenti lavori. ( )
