Contemporary Romance. First book in the Killer Mom series, which is a spin off of the Bad Boy Inc series. The Killer Moms are just that. Mothers that may appear to be the average working woman juggling home, work and child care but also have specific training in assassinating neighborhood threats and criminals. A group of women that can defend and protect themselves, their children and their neighbors.
Carla wants the best for her son, of course. When he’s asked to try out for the soccer team at an elite school, she’s suspicious of the benefactor. He can’t really be that generous.
I like the strong women message and that the group is ready to help one another at a moments notice. I tried guessing the mystery connection but it took a twist and surprised me when it was revealed. I also love the humor that this author almost always includes. It’s not as blatant in this book, but definitely there.
A good romance for a strong independent woman, and of course, the epilogue hints at the next story to come. Count me in!
I listened to the audio version narrated by Matt Haynes and alternated with the paperback. I loved his Hispanic female voice as well as the son. Nice tone changes and entertaining rhythm. ( )
