I didn't like this one as much as I liked 'Hooking Up', but it was still an enjoyable read with some steamy scenes. Romance mind fluff. ( ) I wanted to like this. Hell I paid for hoping to like it. But nope. I got nothing from this read and was utterly disappointed by the boring romance. Let's not forget our 'daring' heroine Cozy who I would deemed too immature for my own liking and the whole romance scenario between her and Griffin was more than off-putting. It was missing that little something something to win me over and their relationship just didn't work nor was it realistic enough for me to even consider giving it a chance. And the whole sleeping with your sister and oh crap I'm about to be a baby daddy drama just fell flat causing my overall reading experience to diminish. As much as I have liked some of the author's previous works, it's sad to say that this just wasn't for me. Moreso, "Making Up" wasn't completely terrible nor was it a worthwhile read. 3.5 stars I seem to be in the minority when it comes to this book because this book was not my favorite. I never could connect with Cosy the way that I wanted to. I often found her too judgemental and too quick to jump to the wrong conclusions. Again, much like Lexington in his book, Griffin, saved this story or I might not have even finished it. Everything was predictable and felt like a rehash of every other trope out there. I realize that these authors are not reinventing the wheel here when it comes to romance but this felt meh and left me irritated that everything (such as other woman drama) was so over-the-top. I am still a huge fan of this author but this book was not my favorite of hers. That is the beauty of books though because what might not work for me could be someone else's favorite. I read this as part of the boxset. Making Up by Helena Hunting Shacking Up #4 Cosy Felton is a college student working in an adult toy shop to make ends meet. When Griffin Mills stops by the store to buy a list of items for a bachelor party Cosy makes a less than fun shopping trip a lot less embarrassing. As Griffin is drawn to Cosy he returns later to ask her on a date...and though she says no they do eventually go out. For awhile the eleven year age difference seems it might be a stumbling block but not for long...nope...soon other things seem to pop up that cause problems. There are ups and downs in their relationship but throughout the story it is impossible NOT to see them together. What I liked: * Griffin: WONDERFUL book boyfriend! * Cosy: a nice balance to Griffin and his soul mate * The meet cute * The way the two usually ended up talking things out rather than giving up * The steamy scenes * Griffin’s family * Knowing how the characters were feeling and what they were thinking – first person dual points of view * How it all worked out What I did not like: * Imogen – Griffin’s Ex-fiance * Armstrong – Griffin’s cousin * The drama of the ups and downs though they did allow for a lot of making up * All the comments about the age difference although there were times Cosy seemed younger than 22 Did I like this book? Yes Will I read more in the series? Yes Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC – This is my honest review. 4.5 Stars Helena Hunting’s MAKING UP (Shacking Up #4) is an original and entertaining read. Griffin Mills draws the short straw and is assigned the task of buying gag gifts for his friend’s bachelor party. He is attracted to the adult toy store saleswoman, Cosy Felton. Talk about an awkward situation. This adult contemporary romance takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada. MAKING UP was a fun story. The characters are lovable and have great chemistry. Cosy is not what you would expect from an adult toy store salesperson; namely because she’s lacking in experience. She is a free-spirited college student. Griffin is a hard-working businessman who is known for being serious. They seem like opposites, but the two make a great couple that compliment each other. I enjoy Helena Hunting’s writing style and humor. The story had thought-provoking obstacles. It was believable and amusing. I love how the story ended. I recommend this book to people that enjoy humorous contemporary romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. sem crÃticas | adicionar uma crÃtica

HTML: "Narrators Muffy Newtown and Jacob Morgan will make listeners blush and laugh their way through this Las Vegas-based romantic comedy in which the sin extends beyond the city...Newtown is great at emphasizing character individuality and sneaking humor into her delivery. Morgan, with his swoon-inducing, even-toned, perfectly paced voice, is everything listeners want in a hero." â?? AudioFile Magazine Cosy Felton is great at her jobâ??she knows just how to handle the awkwardness that comes with working at an adult toy store. So when the hottest guy she's ever seen walks into the shop looking completely overwhelmed, she's more than happy to turn on the charm and help him purchase all of the items on his list. Griffin Mills is using his business trip in Las Vegas as a chance to escape the broken pieces of his life in New York City. The last thing he wants is to be put in charge of buying gag gifts for his friend's bachelor party. Despite being totally out of his element, and mortified by the whole experience, Griffin is pleasantly surprised when he finds himself attracted to the sales girl that helped him. As skeptical as Cosy may be of Griffin's motivations, there's something about him that intrigues her. But sometimes what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas and when real life gets in the way, all bets are off. Filled with hilariously awkward situations and enough sexual chemistry to power Sin City, Making Up is the next standalone in the Shacking Up world Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
