Dominating the beautiful view of the municipality of Parras, in the state of Coahuila, is the shrine of Santo Madero de Jesu s Mari a, at the top of Sombreretillero Hill, a place of devotion for more than a century. This publication was issued to accompany the 2013 exhibition of a selection of ex-votos at Museo de El Carmen. The ex-votos, the oldest dated 1876, were created by members of the community thanking Santo Madero for helping to resolve conflicts and problems related to the life of the town, individually, and collectively, through modern history, including the Revolution. Booklet/catalog is a testimony to the enduring faith of a hardworking people.
