I try to express only my most honest opinion in a spoiler-free way. Unfortunately, there is still always a risk of slight spoilers despite my best efforts. If you feel something in my review is a spoiler please let me know. Thank you.

I would normally do a blurb here, but I honestly don't know how to do that with this book. Sorry about that.

~A very hot romance
~A very surprising and highly welcome secondary romance. Honestly my favorite part of this book
~This book has some crazy moments

Dislikes:
~I'm super confused about what's going on
~This book moved at a snail pace for me
~For whatever reason I can't get into the story as much as I'd like to

So my very first thought after finishing this book was FINALLY. It took forever to read and felt even longer. I had to force myself to keep going. It's one of those books that are too good to give up on, but not good enough to really want to finish. I had similar feelings about the first book. But I was so hoping that this one would be better. Honestly, I thought it was about the same. Will, I still read the next book? Yes. I've come too far to give up now. Plus I'm still holding out hope for the series to improve and I have to know how it ends now. I'm not going to lie though, I'm hoping the next book is the last of this series. ( )

Soo... Let me start by saying, I am truly broken by this book. The book got darker and darker and darker. My love for the characters I should hate grew more and more. And my mind become a bloody mess reading this. I loved it and that is basically want I want to say. Also reading this in the spooky season was great as well. Totally recommend it, especially if you love dark, gothic and eccentric vibes. ( )

Mind blowing second book in the Wicked Saints trilogy. Ruthless God's takes dark and smothers it in pitch black. Two bad boys who have their own agendas, strong woman who are flawed and yet resilient and an ending you don't see coming. Not everyone deserves redemption. Can't wait for the third installment of this "dark metal gothic" series.

Thank you to Netgalley, St. Martin's Press and Wednesday Books for the ARC.

trigger warnings: blood and gore, eye trauma, cutting for blood magic purposes, mention of self-harm, light drug use, alcohol use.

Exactly like [b:Wicked Saints|36118682|Wicked Saints (Something Dark and Holy, #1)|Emily A. Duncan|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1539378101l/36118682._SY75_.jpg|57709985] this book is dark, seductive and compelling.

The writing is still very good, the pace is more slow than the first book but i didn't mind it too much as long as we saw more growth and development.

I really enjoy the complex worldbuilding, the gods, the holy people and heretics, but I also found it too confusing sometimes. But I have hopes that book 3 will give us everything we need to know.
It definitely gave us more informations and I appreciated it.

The characters were more well rounded this time around, I started caring for them and feel their pain. If you thought that they suffered in the first book, my sweet summer children you're not ready for this ruthless book.

I really appreciated the slow burn romances, one of my issues with Wicked Saints was the instalove and I'm glad this one had more depth and growth before the love confessions. Yes, plural. There's a new ship that it forms in this book that had me from page 1. I didn't see it coming and it was so wholesome. I need more in the third book.

Overall I had a great time, it's still not quite a 4 stars for me, because of the confusion I felt, but I definitely enjoyed it more than the first book.
And it didn't suffer from middle book syndrome which is a point in its favor.

Maybe because I listened to this book as an audiobook, but I really struggled to get into this story. There are pieces of it I enjoy for the creativity, but as a whole, I'm just not that into it. ( )
