I just don’t think it ever got where the author intended it to. Neither character was fully developed, there was a lot of mentions of past issues, especially with Jason, that really never came up again. I liked the setting, the animal references were great. I would have liked a little more conflict and resolution and maybe some more insight to why they fell in love. ( ) Another enjoyable story I have liked everything I have read by Lissa Kasey, especially the first book in this series, so I was really looking forward to this one and I was not disappointed. Graham and Jason are wonderful characters with a lot of pain and sadness in their pasts. I loved how the author didn't make them victims of that history; made them strong and know that "normal" is different for everyone and their normal was right for them. It was great seeing Charlie and Bastian again, those 2 stuck with me long after reading Painting with Fire. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica

Returning to an over-crowded apartment where his room is a closet, and working sixteen-hour shifts, have left him emotionally exhausted and in need of a quiet place to call home.Jason Wullcot is a horse breeder and a mystery to the island he lives on, but is in need of a roommate for human contact. His therapist recommends Graham Church, who also happens to have a "white knight" syndrome. When Graham discovers his new roommate was one of the children he helped save twelve-years prior, Graham's need to protect and save kicks into high gear. Only Jason has no interest in being saved.
