Everyone wants new followers...until they follow you home.

Audrey Miller has an enviable new job at the Smithsonian, a body by Pilates, an apartment door with a broken lock, and hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers to bear witness to it all. Having just moved to Washington, DC, Audrey busies herself with impressing her new boss, interacting with her online fan base, and staving off a creepy upstairs neighbor with the help of the only two people she knows in town: an ex-boyfriend she can't stay away from, and a sorority sister with a high-powered job and a mysterious past.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me a copy of this watch-your-back suspense book!
Audrey is self-centered yet engaging, a young woman making it big on Instagram, or at least appearing to have it all on that social media platform. Among her enormous following, she soon realizes, is an enamored stalker. And, while she's hard-working, and hard to scare off, she's also hard-headed when it comes to her friends warning her to be careful.
But she won't be pushed or controlled, and as Audrey relies on her ex-boyfriend and old college friend, she slowly slips further into a scary situation that becomes out of her control.
This book will have you double-checking the webcam on your computer, and thinking twice about what you share on social media.
Audrey was far braver than I'd ever be, and her story has plenty of twists to keep you guessing as to who is behind the obsessive love! ( )

Thank you so much Netgalley, Gallery, Pocket Books and Kathleen Barber for allowing me to read this in exchange of an honest review.

Audrey lives for social media. What she eats, what she wears, how she decorates her home, her music tastes and where and what she's doing at the time. She loves the fame she's gotten from her many many followers...but at what cost.

A new job forces her to move from NY to Washington DC to pursue her dream. It also connects her to best friend Cat and ex-boyfriend Nick who is ecstatic about her being there. As the days go by though, strange things are starting to happen and she has the feeling that someone is watching her...too closely.

So many people could be stalking her...someone she loves, someone she knows, someone she works with or one of her many followers that she "trusts".

This book scared me to the point of putting the book down a few times because the idea that someone
is so obsessed with you that they have no idea whats right or wrong terrifies me. The fact that they could watch y0u even when you're sleeping in your own secure home makes my skin crawl.

Loved the ending to the book. ( )

Everything about this story is infuriating, but again, I do not feel that this book was made for my age range. That being said, it was very well written, and anything that can make me feel anything so passionately has to be given credit. To feel nothing at all would mean it was awful.

My frustration is mainly with the main character. I don't think she's very bright. Definitely naive to think that she can plaster her entire life online and not have consequences. Why she puts up with any of the stuff she does, brushing off advances and people breaking into her home, shows so much immaturity that it's painful. Again, documenting your entire life on social media, just the constant need to post and what to post next, it's annoying.

However, the story was good, if not a cautionary tale, a successful whodunnit story.

A fairly quick to read fast paced thriller about a social media influencer who moves from NYC to DC and picks up a stalker in the process. Audrey is mostly ( but not entirely) likeable character who reconnects with a college friend when she moves. We are reminded that people only show their ‘edited’ sides on social media ( her apartment is sparsely furnished but her edited IG posts keep that secret) and vanity kills, sort of.

The identity of the stalker did come as a surprise, it was cleverly setup to keep you guessing until the end, and then further still . ( )
