When Jenny inherits her estranged grandmother's cottage in Sherwood Forest, she has nothing to lose - no money, no job, no friends, no family to speak of, and zero self-respect. Things can only get better... Her grumpy, but decidedly handsome new neighbour, Mack, has a habit of bestowing unsolicited good deeds on her. And when Jenny is welcomed into a rather unusual book club, life seems to finally be getting more interesting. Instead of reading, the members pledge to complete individual challenges before Christmas: from finding new love, learning to bake, to completing a daredevil bucket list. Jenny can't resist joining in, and soon a year of friendship and laughter, tears and regrets unfolds in the most unexpected ways. Warm, wise, funny and utterly uplifting, what one thing would you change in your life before Christmas comes around?… (mais)

This book is not really a Christmas story. While it starts and ends with Christmas, the holidays are not the main setting for this com-rom/coming-of-age story. In fact, the scenes in the book are throughout an entire year of the MC's life.

For Jenny, life up to this point has not been grand. It has mainly consisted of a mother than has never been supportive, a nonexistent father, a sister that hates her, and then the ex, who now is marrying said sister. Currently without a job, no friends and no money, but she does have a cottage she has inherited from her grandmother. She packs up and moves to Sherwood Forest.

When she arrives, she is shocked to find the cottage is unlivable. As she has no other options, she rolls up her sleeves and gets to work. Over the next year, as she slowly works her way through the hordes of stuff, she discovers herself in process.

Equal parts funny moments and serious stuff, I enjoyed getting to know Jenny and Mack too. All the characters is what endeared me to the story. I also liked the narrator. Well worth a listen. ( )

This book fooled me with its cute cover and title that called out to me. The review is based on the Audible version, narrator Helen Keeley. This was my first time with both narrator and author.

First, the narrator was awesome for me. I loved how she brought the characters to life. Ms. Keeley was exactly who I would have wanted to read this. I enjoyed her performance so much, I have gotten a couple more books she narrates.

Now for the story. I was looking through Christmas titles as I have been on a slow down with reading. Personal issues that I was allowing to steal my joy, nothing to do with my books. I thought a funny Christmas book might bring me back. As this had a fun cover, definitely stated Christmas in the title and was included in my Audible membership, I went with it. It was the perfect choice for me though it was less about Christmas than I thought, (which you come to understand with the ending).

To me, this is more a book about friendships, choices we make and how we get through. It is about living your best life, no matter how insane it feels at times. Life is a beautiful mess.
I love Jenny and the book club, (bonus points for a character who is named Frances. I rarely come across my name). The book clubbers are a wonderfully whacky group. I was drawn right in with them. They are exactly the kind of people I would want to be friends with. I also enjoyed the children. I love children and when they are lively, everything becomes fun. Mack took a bit to get to know and like, for me. But by the end, I did.
I laughed so much listening to this book. It took me two days to listen to as I divided the time. I also cried a bucketful. My guy listened to most of it along with me and he was chuckling at some of the things going on. He agreed with my assessment of the narrator.

I loved the book and have decided to purchase it in the future. I will listen to it again. I do recommend it and, if you choose to listen, I hope it captures your heart and imagination as it did mine.

“Christmas Every Day” is a romantic comedy that kept me laughing out loud throughout the story. The main character (Jenny) moves to her grandmother’s abandoned cottage in Sherwood Forest after a few major life –changing events leave her without a beau, a home, or a job. In the process of restoring the cottage, Jenny discovers her own strengths, meets new friends, and learns about her family heritage.

The novel provided lots to laugh and to cry about. Readers who like a quick and humorous read will enjoy Jenny and her new friends.

I received this book from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own. ( )

Sweet story filled with memorable characters, good and bad. Author packs a lot in this about 11 hour audio. Narrator good, but some language is very English (would like to have print and audio for this reason). Included Audible title until June 1, 2022. DELIGHTFUL.
