"A hacktivist and a cat cafe owner decode the friend zone in this romantic comedy from the author of Undercover Bromance. Alexis Carlisle and her cat cafe , ToeBeans, have shot to fame after she came forward as a victim of a celebrity chef's sexual harassment. When a new customer approaches to confide in her, the last thing Alexis expects is for the woman to claim they're sisters. Unsure what to do, Alexis turns to the only man she trusts-her best friend, Noah Logan. Computer genius Noah left his rebellious teenage hacker past behind to become a computer security expert. Now he only uses his old skills for the right cause. But Noah's got a secret: He's madly in love with Alexis. When she asks for his help, he wonders if the timing will ever be right to confess his crush. Noah's pals in the Bromance Book Club are more than willing to share their beloved "manuals" to help him go from bud to boyfriend. But he must decide if telling the truth is worth risking the best friendship he's ever had"--… (mais)

This is another one of my most anticipated sequels of 2020, and I was quite disappointed when I didn’t get the ARC and then had to wait all this while for my library copy. But it was definitely worth the wait. There were some angsty moments, but overall it was a fun and entertaining read. I love the best friends to lovers trope, so I think I knew I would enjoy it and I’m glad it lived up to my expectations. I still love the Bromance book club boys and all their banter, even though some of their lines about masculinity or relationships have started to feel a bit contrived, because we hear some version of it repeated in every book - but it hasn’t yet taken away from the love I feel for this series.

I didn’t think I would be excited for the Russian’s story but that’s who the next book is gonna be about, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out. ( )

LOVED the humour in this book, which is why it gets 4 stars from me. But also very much for the novelty of the premise underlying this series. While this is the first I've read of the Bromance novels, I'll be dipping in again just for the clever mocking of women that's embodied in the relationship of these male friends. I didn't find it demeaning - it gives us women the chance to laugh at ourselves. ( )

I was worried after book 2 but worry no more. This one was much better and more of what I expected based on book 1. I teared up multiple times during this one and laughed a lot. Glad I gave the series and author a second chance. ( )

Crazy Stupid Bromance
Bromance Book Club, Book 3

I Picked Up This Book Because: Continue the series.

Media Type: Digital Book
Source: PP Library
Dates Read: 1/29/21 - 2/15/21
Stars: 4

The Characters:

Alexis Carlisle:
Noah Logan:
Mack, The Russian, the other guys in the book club, Jessica

The Story:

Alexis is a busy business woman dealing with a lot including a busy body business neighbor, helping people at her cafe deal with trauma, reconciling the loss of her mother, a huge crush on her best friend and, surprise, a whole family she never knew anything about.

Noah is a former hacktivist still grieving the loss of his father and also in love with his best friend (Alexis).

Both of our main characters take a heck of an emotional journey in this book. They are supported by each other and their new admittance of how much they care for each other but they are also majorly supported by the book club and other friends.

The Random Thoughts:

I can’t wait for The Russians book.

For some reason I really enjoy this series about men reading romance novels in their book club. Quick, fun read.

Malcolm got the teacher about to drop some wisdom look about him. "How do you think this book ends, Noah?"
"It's a romance. I would assume they end up together and live happily ever after."
Malcom nodded. "Exactly. All romances end that way. Even though readers know the minute they pick up romances how they're going to end, they still read them loyally. Why do you suppose that is?"
"The sex?"
Colton slapped the table again. "No. Wrong answer"
"It's the journey," Malcolm said. "It's how they get to that happily ever after that matters and makes these books so special and instructive."
"The journey," Noah repeated.
"There is no more universal story than of two people working through their shit to overcome huge obstacles and find their way to happiness," Malcolm said. "But every journey is different, every obstacle unique. And it's in that unique journey that we find lessons for our own lives." ( )
