Tia has 2 very close friends Fiona and Kelly who are also having problems in their lives which they are each keeping hidden from the others. Kelly is widowed and has a stranger turn up at her door which is the start of her problems and Fiona has the inland revenue turn up at her business to audit her books she seems nervous and reluctant to tell her husband. The chapters alternate between each woman's story as time goes on we start to piece together what is happening in each woman's life. I did have a feeling which characters seemed odd to me but the ending was still a surprise. Excellent book, good depth of characters and lives i as a woman could easily picture myself living.
