I've read all of this author's books and this is another unique thriller about a child. I can't imagine being a parent who has very limited vision, and a single parent struggling to deal with the loss of her husband, and then her mother, and the author does a good job of putting us in Rebecca's (the mother) shoes.
She is convinced someone has been entering her home, following her on the streets, and when she is positive that her infant, Jackson, has been switched with another baby, Rebecca (Bec) is in full-blown panic mode. I enjoyed her spunk and determination to do everything on her own, and although she has supportive friends, and an ex-boyfriend who sweeps in to help her with the case, we do see Bec push ahead on her own, determined to find her son, and also, to find out who the other infant is.
It's a thriller that will make you nervous as you cheer Bec on!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me a copy of this thriller.

This was my second Rea Frey book and all I can say is she has managed yet again to write a quite delightful psychological thriller that kept me guessing. Rebecca is blind, having lost her sight several years earlier. She also has recently lost both her husband and her mother in the last year (this is a book that is very much about grief and recovery—not an easy read.) She has a 3-month-old baby.

A lot of the book at first is about set up and establishing how Rebecca functions in the world and within her friend group so it takes until about 1/3 of the way in to get to the main event which is—Rebecca believes someone has switched her baby out with a different baby—and no one else will believe her. After that, the pacing is taut and moves quickly all the way to the end. You’re left wondering if this is all in Rebecca’s head or if the babies have been switched? (No spoilers!) Well crafted and I enjoyed it.

Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader.

In Until I Find You, author Rea Frey weaves a riveting psychological thriller that easily draws the reader in with its suspenseful storyline set in the Chicago suburb of Elmhurst, that follows Rebecca Gray as she has to deal with a mother's worst fear: her three month old son Jackson has been switched with another baby, and using her motherly instinct to compensate for her failing eyesight, she is determined to find her son and bring him home.

This captivating tale is rich in detail and vivid descriptions, and has intriguing and suspenseful twists and turns that leaves the reader with no other option than to keep turning the pages to find out what happens next. As a diehard fan of psychological thrillers, I must admit that this story exceeded my expectations. The intensity of the storyline and the complexity of Rebecca's blindness and recent widowhood is heartwrenching, but her strong determination and motherly instinct to find her son kept me thoroughly riveted and so engrossed, that I literally couldn't wait to see how the story ends.

With a complex and realistic cast of characters, the author does a phenomenal job of delving into the slow-building and tension filled storyline interwoven with a tangled web of secrets, lies, and betrayals; and Rebecca's strong motherly quest for the truth about what happened to her son, especially when everyone doubted her due to her disability. This heartwrenching mother's story will take the reader on a roller coaster ride leaving them feeling the gamut of emotions until the surprise ending. It just doesn't get any better than this!

Until I Find You is an intense and emotional psychological thriller that is a must read!

This book grabbed me from the very first page!! I read it in one sitting. I thought the tension level of the book was just right. From the beginning, you feel Rebecca’s terror when she feels she is being followed, or when things aren’t quite right at home. Then, when the unthinkable happens, you feel her pain and anguish, especially when no seems to believe her.
This is the first book I handed read by this author, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Before the reveal happened, I did have a slight suspicion of who committed the crime, but not enough to be sure.
Well done thriller.

Rebecca Gray has lost so much: a husband, her sight, her career and her mother. However, she does have her infant son who she is fiercely devoted to. She is determined to care for him and to raise him herself. Suffering from lack of sleep and the stress of daily life, she is anxious. Did she leave her front door unlocked? Was someone following her? Her life explodes when she discovers the baby in the crib is not her own.
Rebecca is a fascinating character who is to be admired for her strengths. The author skillfully places readers into her world. The secondary characters are believable. As the narrative moves along we begin to wonder if they are who they present themselves to be.
This is an engrossing and riveting story with an unexpected conclusion. Highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from St. Martin's and NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.. ( )
