This romance novel really grew on me after a very average start - audiobooks that are started at the outset of a highway journey certainly have an advantage!

The love story between the physically challenged heroine, Francesca, and the superb physique of the sports star, Soren - I think it will be one I won't so easily forget. She's tough and has a smart mouth, and he is a sweet, patient and adoring from afar. It's cute and heart warming.

I like that the story swapped regularly between his point of view and hers - I'm finding that with the romance novel genre, this is my favourite approach.

I didn't realise this book was in a series, and #2 at that, but I'll look out for another in the Bergman Brothers series. ( )

I am loving the Bergman Brothers series. This second book focuses on Ren and Frankie. Ren is a pro hockey player and Frankie works for the team in social media. Frankie also has the challenge of living with rheumatoid arthritis and is on the autism spectrum. There is a rule that forbids relationships between persons who work for the hockey team, so even though Ren has been pining after Frankie, he has been waiting for the right time to come for them. I loved both characters, but Ren was so wonderful. I loved everything about him. This story is a slow burn, and I like those. My only criticism is that this book dragged some in the middle so I think it could have been a little shorter to avoid the drag. Otherwise I loved everything else about it. 4.5 stars ( )

Chloe Liese does it again! This book is so adorable and I’m obsessed with Frankie and Ren’s love story. I’m also a MASSIVE sucker for a hockey romance and this one is one of my all time favorite hockey books now. ( )

It was cute. It was mushy. It was alright.

The author was able to touch base on disability, autism and RA, and the emotional struggles that come along with it. It was real and raw, and constant throughout the read. More so, what I enjoyed most was how Ren handled, approached, and aided Frankie’s diagnosis. He was never judgmental nor resentful towards her disabilities. It only proved that he is everyone’s ideal man and the perfect book boyfriend.

Despite the characteristics that I heavily loved, everything else was mediocre at best. The start was great, I was really intrigued by the storyline and characters but the middle drag, drag, draaaaaaaag! It seemed like a lot of nothing was happening leading me to become less invested in what was going on and becoming bored with how Ren and Frankie’s story was going to end.

Altogether, ‘Always Only You’ was a cute, sexy at times, uneventful read that didn’t leave a lasting impression despite the topics discussed and the realistic characters readers are able to relate to. ( )

AH! Truthfully I was a little apprehensive about this one as I read the blurb/ started the book and got the impression that Frankie might be so prickly and independent that I would find her to be a bit frustrating or two dimensional as a character but I was more than pleasantly surprised.
Grumpy sunshine characters are precious to me and Frankie does not disappoint. I personally love a m/f dynamic where the guy is more of a sweet cinnamon roll and the girl is the thunder cloud, and Ren and Frankie embody this perfectly.
Another excellent, thoughtful, real romance from Chloe Liese that serves up authentic, heart jerking representation alongside adorable quirkiness and pretty great Shakespeare references. ( )
