I had high hopes for this book but it felt rushed. I had read about Gamble in some of the other books and was goping to get more of an idea of her story. Sadly, it didn't.

I'm a fan of this author but this one doesn't work. A lot of the Royal BStards MC has been hit and miss. I'm at the point of giving up and just concentrating on the authors from an individual aspect where they can flesh out the details instead of trying to tie different writing styles and stories together. ( )

Elizabeth Knox did something a little different with her entry into this shared world. She put Gamble, her FMC into a place where you don't normally see, and it was an interesting place for it.

I like Gamble. She has been in a difficult place and has managed to come through it. I think that she's willing to do a lot of things to keep herself safe, and I don't blame her for that, because she's got to deal wit Rancid, and she has to walk carefully there.

Hart, the male main character, is kind of a blank for me. We really don't learn too much about him. He was in another one of the RBMC books, so maybe there was more info about him in that book. I'll have to read it and find out. He seems like he's an OK guy.

I'm giving this a 3.5. I liked the story overall, but I felt like it was rushed and not quite complete. It's more like the first part of a story and not a complete one. ( )
