Fiction. Humor (Fiction.) HTML:Don't trust lust at first sight. One woman chooses reality over fantasy in this friends-to-lovers romance, a steamy standalone by “an author to keep your eye on” (Katee Robert).

Jacqueline: As an adult woman—and the vice president of a marketing firm—I shouldn’t be waiting by my office window to ogle the mystery man who jogs by every morning at 11:45. Sure, he’s a gorgeous, perfect specimen of the human race, but I can’t bring myself to hit on a total stranger. However, my best friend–slash–colleague Vince Carson thinks I should do more than talk to the guy. In fact, he’s borderline obsessive about “getting me laid.” (His words.) But the more time we spend together, the more it’s clear: The one I’m falling for is Vince.

Vince: Jackie Butler’s got it bad for some pompous, over-pumped A-hole who struts his stuff past her window. That doesn’t bother me. I know she deserves nice things. What does bother me is that she friend-zoned me big-time last year, so I can’t ask her out myself. But what if I set her up with Mr. Steroids? Then, when he breaks her heart, I can swoop in and save her like the nice guy I am. Everything’s going according to plan . . . until we share a ridiculously epic kiss. And suddenly anything is possible.

Eye Candy is a delicious blend of sultry and sweet. With the goddess of savory on hand, there's no doubt that addictive is the name of the game. Through characters like Jackie and Vince, Ms. Lemmon relays the most secret thoughts in the most decadent of ways. Heat and humor mesh well with the heart already on full display. One taste will never be enough. ( )

Eye Candy is the first book in the new Real Love Series by Jessica Lemmon. And for those of you who have read my books before, I normally I really enjoy Jessica Lemmon's work, her books are normally fun for me and thrilling, swoon worthy and scorching hot for me to read.

But where it came to Eye Candy I struggled, I didn't like any of the characters, and for such great "friends to lovers" they basically knew very little about each other past the surface, because at a few points I was like…"why!" The only character I liked out of Eye Candy, was Davis, but he wasn't enough for me to fall in love with this book. The premise of friends to lovers is a common theme in romance, but for me, there was nothing fresh that gripped me.

With all that being said, I give Eye Candy 2 stars.

Jacquelyn Butler is the co-vice president of a successful marketing firm. She's been divorced for 6yrs. now and her love life is in the pits, she's tried dating, unsuccessfully, and hasn't found anyone who can captured her heart or her time yet.
Vince Carson is Jacquelyn's best friend and her co-VP, he's also is single and divorced and his sex life is not much better, however his sights are firmly set on Jacquelyn which is unfortunate as an off-limits zone is in place.
Jacquelyn's had her eye on guy who lives in her building, he jogs every day and Jacquelyn has face pressed to the glass, watching him, same time every day. He's really "hot" and it's only innocent viewing, but Vince suggest she get out there and ask him out, they both should really, it's time. Vince though is hoping Jacquelyn will need his big shoulders to cry on. He was right and Vince gets a lot more.

A great story. It was funny and sexy, I loved the bantering and the dialogue. The development of the story was clever and witty, and the characters interesting and snappy. I enjoyed it very much. ( )

Received an ARC my fair review for netgalley. This book was cute, however at times you wanted to slap them silly. Story is about two friends who are both divorced and have issues that they needed to work on. It is also a friends to lovers story. Jackie is insecure because her husband had cheated on her, and every date she has gone on, has been horrible, so she decides she is no longer going to date. Every morning there is gorgeous male who runs outside of her window at her job, and she makes sure she is looking out of that window, she even sets her alarm. Vince has become attracted to Jackie and would like to become more than friends, but does not have the guts to tell her and feels she needs to go on a date first to give them a chance, so he encourages her to go after that gorgeous guy, even though he hates it. My issue with this book, is that they keep holding on to past hurts, and that sabotages there relationship, and also Vince keeps playing games instead of manning up, that kind of annoyed me, because when Jackie gives in, he is the one holding back. Eventually they figure it out, or atleast that is how it ended. Would like to read what happens with Davis. ( )
