Of course the murder is far more complex than it seems, indeed the conspiracy that PI Beaupre uncovers is a complex and twisted one. As well as the intricate plot what makes this a particularly worthwhile read is the depth of the characters, many of whom the reader just has to love, or at least deeply empathise with.
There is a great sense of humour constantly present throughout the book. The one-liners that the protagonist comes up with are often startlingly clever. Indeed the writing is, in general, quite a work of art.
Overall this book is a good read and one I can recommend. ( )
