Excellent YA fantasy tale with refreshing twists and turns. This book has it all: adventure, romance, hope, despair, bravery, integrity and honor. It also has pirates, a special horse and the continual fight between good and evil. It is fast-paced and action packed. The characters are well thought out and developed throughout the book. The scenes are vividly described and constantly changing. The book is very well written. ( )

I received an early reviewers copy of this book from Library Thing in exchange for an honest review. Five stars. Very good story. Very well written. Buy the book; read it; have a great time.

Now my personal feelings: I couldn't get past chapter 7, and had to quit. I honestly rate this a 5 star great review. "It's not YOU Lew, its ME!" The dizzying array of characters actually needed a REFERENCE GUIDE before chapter 1. One of the main characters, Garlock, who is always talking, is an entertaining old geezer, but Lew goes "over the top" by giving the character an accent so thick you can cut it with a knife, and it is JUST PLAIN EXHAUSTING. Lew, make your characters interesting, but don't make them SO interesting you exhaust the reader! I really would like to finish your book but I couldn't because I just got exhausted. Cut it back a bit, make it READABLE, and watch readers and more five star reviews flock to you like flies on a corpse.
