Flame-haired Lissa Piner is a skilled glassblower whose delicate gift conceals a burning inner strength that can destroy as exquisitively as it can create. Commissioned to design chandeliers for a string of luxury hotels, her remarkable skills have taken her to Italy. But Lissa's real mission there is a secret. For her entire life has been a lie, leading to a chance to avenge a terrible wrong. Enlisted as her bodyguard is Casimir Prakenskii, a trained assassin living off the grid. In Lissa, he sees a kindred spirit--something unexpected and wicked, mysterious and sensual. But something more than desire is about to bring them together, because both of their pasts cry out for revenge. And for two people with this many secrets, this much passion and this many enemies, someone is bound to get burned.… (mais)

So in this one we get little Lissa Piner, the fragile and last one of the sisters of the heart form Sea Haven. And Casimir Prakenskii....yet another of the infamous brothers who survived the horrid training of their youth.

Lissa is off on a European tour of sorts to meet with potential buyers of her hand blown glass chandeliers (I would have like to know about this but since it really wasn't pivotal to the plot we didn't get too much detail). She ends up at her Uncle Luigi's home in Italy where we discover Little Lissa is not who we think she is....oh no, not by a long shot. She has more in common with the Prakenshii's brothers than any of us could have imagined. And yes, you guessed it....she gets a brother all of her very own. And like the other couples they are head over heels within a matter of days.

I will say this, I love that fact that while Lissa/Giancinta is known to be fragile and an introvert one we see what a true badass she is it's hard not to root for her while hearing the Rocky theme playing in your head. She takes care of her own need for vengeance then sets out to make sure her sisters and their husbands can live free and easy, never again to worry about the Sorbacovs coming after the men. Casimir overcomes his extreme alpha male tendencies to help her. Figuring she's set about doing this so to keep her as safe as possible he might as well lend his expertise to the cause.

OMG moment: while at a special event Viktor, the oldest of the brothers and the one who has been missing....makes an appearance. Lissa gets to the heart of him very quickly and gives a golden nugget....the reason Blythe isn't interested in finding love just helping her sisters find it, she belongs to Viktor. That's how she knew how to handle the Prakenskii's as they show up and the ladies reactions to them. She calls him out on it and that surprises Casimir as everyone is usually too afraid of Viktor to cross him.

Can't wait for the last installment...Blythe and Viktor's book, should be a blast as it will more than likely happen back in Sea Haven where the rest of the family is. All those bossy men sticking their noses in each other's business, so can't wait.

I enjoyed this 5th book in the series, but I would have to say it wasn't my favorite one. I think the ending with the Sorbocov's was rushed. With as much as this has been hyped up in the other 4 books I would have thought this would have had a conclusion that would have taken the forces of the whole Prekenski family. A lot of time was spent on Lissa's revenge story and I think they should have ended with that and had another story around the Sorbocov revenge. ( )

Lissa and Casimir having been living other lives while hiding their assassan lives. Loved how these two connected and supported each other. They both had bloody, violent histories and horrors and betrayals to overcome.

Won this through the Early Reviewers. This is a story of assassins who travel the globe seeking revenge. Revenge for what is not very clear, a man and a woman who supposedly are fire elementals and can start fires although this never seems to play a part in the book. This is supposed to be one of a best selling series of books, this is the only one I've read.
This is not normally my type of book but I gave it a chance. The story was interesting as well as the characters and would have been enjoyable but...
This book is nothing but a thinly draped action story excuse for a porn novel. It's ridiculous and almost humorous how every few pages the two main characters drop everything for an explicit sex session. I was glad i was not listening to this in front of anyone. I mean really?
