Genre: Realistic Fiction
Review: The author stayed true to the genre of realistic fiction because she wrote a believable story about a 1st grade class as they learn about shamrocks and clovers and celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Kearsten says: Excited to share her Irish heritage with her classmates, Katie and her parents cut out shamrocks with her parents. But when Mrs. Connor shows up to class on St. Patrick's Day with a "shamrock" that looks different from the ones Katie made, she's disappointed. It takes a look at a dictionary to lighten her mood!

This was nice, as it encourages USING DICTIONARIES!!! (
