Many middle school students struggle with how elections work and are beginning to understand the two parties but not usually in an appropriate fashion. I love using picture books to introduce different skills and President's Day was a good opportunity to talk about becoming President and the two parties. ( ![]() Duck runs for office. The book features the process of campaign, and election day. Duck won the elections. Duck becomes popular. This book is a great resource to introduce the unit about elections to younger children. Colorful book that is easy to read. read aloud- fiction This book is about a duck who thinks he should be in charge of the farm. After winning the farm election, he ran for governor and won. He than began his campaign for President and won. He realized this was too much work. In the paper he saw an add for a duck wanted. He went back to the farm and left the vice president in charge. I think this is a really cute children's book that would be a good read aloud. Especially during a year like this one where there is a big election. I read this book as a read aloud for 4-H days and the judges seemed to love it. 00000196 Such a fun read-aloud. From the creators of Click, Clack, Moo, Duck is tired of chores and ending the day smelly and covered in lawn clippings from mowing the grass. First he wins the election to be in charge of the farm, but that proves too much work as well. So he runs for governor and wins only to again feel overworked. And so he runs for President! You guessed it. He wins again, but being President is maybe hardest of all. Or at least it is if you want to do it right. Wonderfully fun, bold illustrations. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
