( ) When his lighthouse is mechanised and his job disappears, keeper Will Elliott decides to buy a proper old fashioned sailing boat and sail round the British Isles. Things do not go precisely according to plan. A light read, with some entertaining elements. Passes a couple of hours - preferably on a rainy afternoon while ensconced somewhere cosy - but didn't really grab me. This is a much lighter book that I would normally choose to read but one of its attractions was the Cornish setting. Mr Titchmarsh successfully evoked the village setting and although the female love interest was a little cliché, a beautiful, lithe ex-dancer and an artist to boot, the hero of the story was a rather attractive young man who didn't annoy me by letting his past totally ruin his future. There was the added spice of a little smuggling but the excitement preceding the denouement was quite restrained and not out of place in a story that preferred to focus on the characters and their relationships. It certainly wasn't life changing but the prose flowed pleasantly and the combination of gentle mystery and gentle romance held my interest until the last page. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
