The reference book offers tens of thousands of ways to find just the right word for any occasion. It blends the functions of a thesaurus (offering a myriad of interesting ways to say the same thing) with those of a dictionary (defining most of its entries) thus assuring writing that is colorful and accurate. I love this book. It has so many functions, helpful in many ways.

A feast of words! ( )

This is a thesaurus on steroids! Not only does it list synonyms, but it actually groups words in useful categories. As a budding novelist, I like sections like CRIME and VIOLENCE, but as an English Teacher, the areas on CHARACTER AND BEHAVIOUR and ACTION AND SENSE WORDS useful for my students. ( )
