Craft a timeless and versatile wardrobe for everyday with Nani Iro, the Japanese fabric brand by artist and textile designer Naomi Ito. In this follow-up to The Nani Iro Sewing Studio, Naomi and her talented atelier present a collection of 18 artful garments that can be enjoyed all year round-simply change the fabric selection or design elements like sleeve length to customize pieces for specific seasons. These garments are intended to be layered, mixed, and matched to push the boundaries of your wardrobe and experiment with print and colour. From simple, beginner-friendly tunics that can be made in one day to more challenging dresses with special details, such as pleats and gathers, you'll find stunning garments inspired by and designed for showcasing beautiful textiles. Full-size pattern sheets are included to help you draft your beautiful designs. Sizes range from S-XL, though the relaxed style of many of the garments will fit a more inclusive size range. Finished measurements are provided for each pattern to help you select the projects that will work best for you. Embark on a year-long sewing journey with Nani Iro and create a wardrobe full of styles that can be made and worn beyond a single season. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |

I'm learning to appreciate the simple practicality and aesthetics of these looser silhouettes more and more but doubt I have the appropriately drapey fabrics in my stash (so this wouldn't help me much in my stash-busting goals), and also not sure I would get much wear out of these styles [See a picture index of the patterns here]. But I loved looking through the beautiful photos and found the first half of the book (showcasing each pattern with multiple variations of the finished product shown) to be well organized. The second half is the instructions for each pattern and I noted that these are out of order but they are indexed within the photos at the beginning; I can't speak to how well the instructions may be written.
Favorites: G Two way tunic shirt (shown here as a longer dress, pictured on pp 14-15, 37, 40, instructions 109. I had gone so far as to duplicate this collar combined with a modified cocoon blouse (pictured on pp 10, 19, 30, instructions start p.66), but couldn't settle on a fabric and in the end gave up on the whole project.
