It tells everything from when he was born to what his hobbies were. It describes where he lived and some of the accomplishments he made in his life, such as signing the Declaration of Independence. I thought this was a great biography for students. The sentences are short, they do not drag on and on, but they are straight to the point. I like how it covered topics about Franklin that students would be able to relate too, such as he was a reader, writer, and even enjoyed inventing things. I like that it had specific dates as well which ties into teaching history. The illustrations were also something I enjoyed. Each illustration went together with the corresponding page, which I think helps draw the reader into the book. This book would be good to use when studying about history. If the Declaration of Independence is being studied, then this book can be read to teach the students about someone who helped create it. Another idea is that this book could be used for students to write a mini book report. This report can cover what the students learned about Franklin by reading this book. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica

The pictures help the children a great deal! They are large and most of them are in color which really helps give the children the opportunity to picture what is going on in their heads. This book breaks down every part of Benjamin Franklin's life and makes it very clear which parts of his life it is talking about so it is very easy to follow along with.
T.M. Usel did a very nice job of turning this in a book that would be very helpful to be able to tie together a science lesson and also a social studies or history lesson. The students would never even know that they were learning so much while reading just this one book!
My favorite part of this book is the review at the end of the book. In the very back of the book, the author has broken down the important dates of Mr. Franklin's life. He also has defined important words to know (vocabulary words) from the book. Throughout the book those words have also been printed in bold. These are the reasons why I gave this book 4 stars! ( )
