The story uses photos and illustrations about trains to teach children about the concept of the alphabet. Children may learn a little history about John Henry and George Pullman. Each page has at least two objects that start with a particular alphabet written in colorful uppercase. The photos and the illustrations are delightful. On the other hand, I think the prints need to be bigger to attract children. I appreciate the alphabet written out. However, besides each alphabet written in uppercase, it is helpful to see the alphabet written in lowercase, also.
Children will enjoy the K is for Kissing more because it is colorful and filled with illustrations. C is for Caboose is a bit different because it is filled with a combination of black and white and colorful photos and illustrations. Unless a child wants to learn about train, they will not give this book a second glance.
