They're great photographs and allow you to take a look at several famous (and not-so-famous) Frank Lloyd Wright buildings but it's all puff, there's nothing here about any of the flaws or issues that I know exists with a few of these buildings. He was a visionary but I would have liked to see a little more information on the houses, whether, for example, they are still occupied and what the owners like or dislike about the buildings. The text is very much written by architect or in real estate speak, all of the puff about a building none of the flaws. ( ) Magnificent, oversized pictures open the doors into 100 of the famed architect’s most revered creations. Color photographs, indoors and out, show how Wright’s famous glass windows looked to residents and passersby; how materials used on the exterior affected the interior; how space could soar in a building that seemed to hug the ground; and how nature was integrated into all his designs. Succinct profiles reveal the stories behind Wright’s own home in Oak Park; the prairie-style Dana House; the exquisite Fallingwater; and other landmarks. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
This text juxtaposes Wright's interiors with their relative exteriors and shows that, while other architects were designing buildings from the outside in, Lloyd Wright changed perceptions of modern architecture and began to work from the inside out. It features over 200 photographs of 100 of his buildings. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
