What a great book (and idea) to get little ones thinking about getting ready to go to school. Even though new things are scary, you should still try... you'll probably like it. A hopeful, if simplistic, outlook - perfect for first timers (parents and kids alike). ( ) The meaning behind the story was great - don't be afraid for new changes whether it's you or your parents - but the story was sort of long. There were lots of words on each page, which made the story seem to never end until it finally did. I was surprised at how much words were in each page considering this was a picture book. Overall, the book was good. This book is about a raccoon that has to overcome his nerves and fear about starting school and eventually after realizing its not so bad he does just that! This is a good first day of school read for your younger students to see that changing grades is not so bad! Maybe best for 1-2 grades. The author has written children and adults books and more information about her and her works are at http://www.jacquelynmitchard.com/. This book is about a raccoon who is nervous about leaving his hhouse and the first day of school. His first obstacle to overcome was a sleep-over at his aunt's house. Rory ended up having fun and playing with his cousins only after his dad told him new things were scary but you must give them a try. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
