Told in three chapters, good if broken up-only tell one story per storytime. 1-new neighbor wants to marry the sisters, 2-playing pirates, 3-sleeping out and sister can not sleep. ( )

Very entertaining book for young readers, especially those with sisters who can relate to the fox sisters. Could be used as a three part read-aloud, or perhaps independent reading. Students could write their own story about sisters, brothers, or cousins, and the neighbors that came over to play. Illustrations are bright and useful as a example of how to be creative. The animals come to life in this book in the same way a real family would act with each other. ( )

Zelda and ivy play with the boy next door and play pirates and the girls have a sleep over in the back yard. it seems to me that Zelda is a bit bossy and in the end, things don go her way.

Her paintings are excellent, simultaneously artful and illustrative. The stories are nicely textured and feel true to early childhood. Because of the swift text, this is a good storytime book. ( )
