A 45-year-old man dying of cancer informs the counselor at his hospice about a murder committed some 20 years earlier; given this information, the York police find a body where it was indicated it would be, and DCI Hennessey and DS Yellich find themselves involved in a cold case. It seems that a biker gang had been up to some very unsavory things 20 years ago, and although the gang has dissipated, it appears that the former members still have some killing to do…. I very much like the Hennessey and Yellich series, of which this is the sixteenth, and am pleased that Mr. Turnbull did not spend much time reiterating personal details of his characters because the reader will know those facts from previous books. Here, there is rather more gore than usual, albeit more or less off-stage, and there is a very nice twist at the very end of the book that caught me by surprise. I’ve been recommending this series as a whole, and continue to do so with this book; although some procedural details are a bit gruesome, the plain writing and essential storytelling are excellent as always! The new Hennessey and Yellich mystery When a deathbed confession leads to the reopening of a murder case, it doesnt bode well that both victims were members of a bikers gang twenty years ago. As Detective Chief Inspector Hennessey and his team try to investigate, it seems the vow of silence is as strong as ever. And when an ex-member is found murdered, it seems that someone is determined to keep old secrets dead and buried . . . Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
