If you are a fan of the southwest and mysteries the series of books by Tony Hillerman are good reads. Jim Chee is a young tribal policeman who is torn between the old ways of the shaman and new police duties. The books give a lot of insight to the way life on the reservation works today. They also have a good mystery at their core.
