adorable book perfect for kids and bedtime woes

Again, another adorable book. I was reading this in the children's section of Borders, laughing out loud at the poor little owl who falls out of his desk at school and his glasses are all crooked. The illustrator does amazing grown up work too. ( )

Same pattern as Little Pea, only this time it's Little Owl who just wants to go to bed early, but is forced to stay up late. I enjoy the little touches in these books as much as the turned-on-their-head rules, like the chalkboard in Little Owl's classroom with "Who, Whose, Whom" written on it, and the inevitable pun in the last line ("They owl lived happily ever after"). ( )

Little Hoot is soooo tired, he just wants to go to bed; but his parents insist that if he wants to grow up to be a wise old owl he must stay up late. The illustrations are cute and the book made me laugh but it's definitely for slightly older picture book afficionados who will get the joke. ( )
