I would rate this book a 5/5 simply for the message behind the story: Hobbie said it clearly, "Sometimes you need a big whopping thunderstorm to clear the air", which could also be taken as it's all about perspective. Another message I love that this book emphasizes it the pure effort in Toot and Puddle's friendship. Not only does Puddle pay attention to how Toot is feeling each day, Puddle takes the time to brainstorm different ways to make Toot feel better. For example, Puddle invites their friends over to play a game of hide- and- seek, but continues to check up on Toot when it's obvious Toot is still mopey. Lastly, I love this book because of the illustrations. Besides how cute they are, the illustrations give off such strong moods from Toot and Puddle. It was clear to see which pig was which by the way they were shown in the illustrations. ( ) Toot and Puddle is an adorable book about a little pig, Toot, and his buddy, Puddle. Throughout the book, Toot is blue, meaning he is moping around. Puddle tries to cheer him up by having a party, going on adventures, etc. Puddle finally cheers up at the end of the book when a massive rainstorm hits his town, and suddenly, he feels lively again.
