I think this is a great read especially for the students who are learning about Earth and potential for life on other planets in science classes. The setup structure of the text was easy to follow and served as a great learning tool to know all the different components that make up life on Earth and what can contribute to the belief of life on other planets. The author presents the information in an exciting and thought-provoking manner by making sure to incorporate questions that really make the readers think about such concepts. The use of pictures throughout the text also helps students visualize the different aspects of life on Earth that they may have never considered prior to reading. Overall, I think this book clearly serves its point as an informational text and would be something I would reference to in a classroom of my very own with my students. ( )

Interesting, but relatively unengaging children's non-fiction book. I would have appreciated more pull-out boxes, quotes, bullets or something to break up the endless prose. ( )
