A few months ago, I saw this movie trailer called Beastly and found out it was based on a book. The trailer captivated me, so I knew I had to read the book before I go see the movie (which will be released on 2011, I think).
Anyway, I admit I was with great expectations about Beastly and when I finally did read it, I was left with this feeling that it could've been so much better. For instance, I thought the main-character should've been a little older (at the beggining of the book Kyle is only 14 years old), that would've worked better, in my opinion, would've made it more real and easier for me to take him seriously.
The best thing about this book, despite its wonderful message that beauty is on the inside and everyone deserves to be loved, was the chat group with all those cursed fairytale characters. I tought it was really adorable and creative. Another thing I really liked was that Lindy wasn't exactly beautiful. She was an average girl with little imperfections (like her crooked teeth or her freckles). For Kyle/Adrian she was insanely beautiful because of how stunning she was on the inside, because he loved her. And when we love someone, they're beautiful through our eyes, even if other people don't share the same opinion.
I really don't regret reading this book, it was an okay reading. Yes, it could've been better but it could've been worse, as well. I'm excited to watch the movie, it actually looks better than the book. (
