Pormenores da obraThe Little Train por Lois Lenski
![]() Ainda não há conversas na Discussão sobre este livro. Sorry. It's meant to be informative, but though it pictures a 'sand dome' up near the smokestack, it never hints what that is. I did learn that, apparently, All aboard!" does not mean "Everybody get on board; last chance" as I always thought, but is rather a report to the engineer that "Everyone is aboard!" (If you tell me that indeed I was right all along and Lenski misled me, I'll take another star off my rating!)" ( ![]() A rather wordy book for being so little... But H enjoyed it and we've read it many times. He especially likes the semaphores and figuring which direction is go, caution and stop. Published in 1940, this little book will be sure to delight kids even today, with it's charming pictures done in both black and white, and sporadic red. Train enthusiasts will appreciate the page that tells what each part of the train engine engine is called. The Little Train is all about Engine Small, his little black train, and his steam engine. It's a story about a journey that his train goes on. Train lovers will adore this book and the illustrations. He goes through an adventure on his train as he grabs passengers like Fireman Shorty and cargo along the way. As Small starts his journey to Tinytown he makes sure that you feel the love he has for his train. Small goes into detail about how the train runs and the parts to the train all while giving a tour of it and giving factual information. This is a great book, especially for train lovers. The detail that the author goes into about the train parts and how the train runs is very informative. Children could learn a lot about how the process is and what it takes for the train to travel. Boys in the class would especially love this book. Extension ideas would be to maybe have a train station set up in one of the center areas. They could learn together on how to put the train together and use there imagination as to where they are going and if they have stops to make. Another idea would be to color a train coloring page. The children could use colorful colors just like the book. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
