Unhei,'s classmates often had a super difficult time pronouncing her name, so she creates a name jar that she then puts names in a jar that she wants to change her name too. However, at the end, she decides to keep her name and its uniqueness and embraces it. I would say that this book is a perfect read for younger kids around the ages of 5-8 This is a story about a young girl who immigrated to the US. As she is starting in her new class she is struggling with her name. Everyone around her at school can't say her name correctly so her class creates a name jar for her to choose a new name. By the end of the story the young girl realizes how special having a unique name is and that she wants to keep her real name. I loved this book and can see if having multiple uses in both a intermediate and primary ages. A wonderful story of acceptance and friendship. Unhei moves to America from Korea and is trying to fit in with her peers. She decides to change her name so her classmates can pronounce her name and won't sound different. Her classmates try to help her come up with a name, but Unhei realizes her name is special and reflects her heritage. This is a great story to read at the beginning of the year for students to talk about their names and understand each other. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
