I was fascinated by the information offered about the endangered species list and how the grey wolf came off the list. This book offered plenty of information for any young reader to be able to learn about wolves. Great photos to accompany the information offered. This would be an engaging book for readers. ( ) This book teaches about animal communication, wolf social hierarchy and pack organization, along with the ecological significance of wolves. This book also carries messages about conservation, with resources listed on the end. The book could also be used in a classroom to discuss the power of photography in capturing images from the natural world and promoting species conservation. The book contains end resources for wolf conservation and protection. This book details the lives of wolves and provides information on how their packs function. The author gives input on his own personal experience dealing with and researching wolves, including why he started learning about them. Many photographs on different types of wolves and how they live are provided. A reader learns much, from where in the world they live, to what they eat, to the hierarchy of packs, to how they have become endangered and how we can help. this was a nice book about wolves. Bright photographs of wolves. The author is the photographer and you can tell his love of wolves by they way he writes the text. I don't believe this would be a great book for the classroom (especially in OR and WA) because of the contoversy between ranchers in the eastern parts of the states and the city folk. This author is most definitely on the "Save the Wolves" side, but I believe in order for this to be a classroom book, it would also have to explore the other side of the story. Or just not include that aspect at all. If it didn't include that, it would be a great book. The illustrated information book provides an overview of wolves around the world, but particularly those in North America. Accompanied by stunning photographs of wolves in the wild, the text discusses habitat, life span, pack life, communication, hunting and rearing young. Wolves' evolving endangered species status is also explained, as are the threats to their survival. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
