"This Train" by Paul Collicutt is an interesting picture book that exemplifies the basic concepts of trains through is use of descriptions and illustrations of various types of trains. There are various types and colors, and are shown in different possible settings.
I really like this book and so do my children. It is very easy to read and understand and teaches about trains in a very interesting way. I think this is a great book to have in a classroom or library, because it is not only informational on trains, but is also a great practice book for an early reader. I want my kids to have this in their collection.

Summary:
This book gives vast information about trains yet in a simple and understandable way. It gives a brief contract about trains from the different colors and sizes to the ages and uses. The book gives brief descriptions about the different types of trains there are as well as how and when they travel. It also highlights the different jobs they perform.

Personal Reaction:
I like the brief introduction about the type of trains at the very beginning of the book. The colorful pictures of the different trains come alive in this book as well as the very movement of the trains can be seen on the pages. this book was very creative in its effort to grasp the attention of its reading audience. As I read this book I remember my trip to Paris, which was the only time i ever travelled on trains and it was amazing being able to relate to some of the trains that were made for passengers. I am sure after readin this book. children who have never been on a train would long to be on one. this book brings these trains alive in a very colorful and creative manner.

Classroom Extension:
This book can be used in a descriptive lesson about trains. The words in the book highlights various descriptions of a train. Students can be asked to draw a train and give a brief description about the train. A comprehension lesson can also be done on this book where children are asked various informational questions about trains. Students can even be asked to research other information about trains for home work and bring back to share with the class. ( )

Summary:
This story is a very descriptive book that explains many ways trains travels, the different types of train and its job it performs. I like the beginning and the end of the book because it gives pictures and names of different names of trains and the year it was created. Great book for children whose interesting in learning about trains.

Personal Relations:
I can relate to this story because I’m interested in learning how trains travels, knowing the job of the conductor, and I've always wanted to travel on a train, but haven’t had the chance to yet.

Classroom Extension:
1. Take a field trip on a train as tour, to get more information about the conductor’s job, the mechanics, and the workers who monitors the train's movement on maps when routing.

2. Have the students write in their journals what they experience on the tour and draw a picture of their train and give details.

Summary: Book Starts by telling the different types of trains from different parts of the world. Trains are in contradictory places; if one is going up hill the other is going down, if its short the other is long. This book also tells more about how certain trains work as if they run off steem, more than one track, or electricity.

Personal Reaction: I Thought that this book would be great for young children to figure out that their are many types of trains.

Classroom extension: we can talk about if anyone has been on a train befor and if they have what type of train was it and where did they go.
We could also go on a field trip on a train.
