If thought of only as a book for children this is fine. The author has chosen a few items and topics to mention for interest to young people, but at the expense of other information. For example the common divisions of prehistoric periods in which most North American Indians occurred is ommited. Most projectile styles are ommited. The author contradicts himself when stating only sharp-breaking stones are suitable for projectile making, by then mentioning projectiles made of Ivory, copper, and wood, and even basalt. Basalt does not break with a sharp edge.

But for a 2nd through 5th grade kid, the book is good for an introduction to Indian projectile points, as far as it goes without a tme scale of when most points were made. ( )
