Welcome to the Overlook Hotel. You'll never want to leave . . . Danny is only five years old, but in the words of old Mr Hallorann he is a 'shiner', aglow with psychic voltage. When his father becomes caretaker of the Overlook Hotel, Danny's visions grow out of control. As winter closes in and blizzards cut them off, the hotel seems to develop a life of its own. It is meant to be empty. So who is the lady in Room 217 and who are the masked guests going up and down in the elevator? And why do the hedges shaped like animals seem so alive? Somewhere, somehow, there is an evil force in the hotel - and that, too, is beginning to shine . . . Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |

I'm no author, but I think the most difficult type of book to write is a thriller/horror one, because it ain't easy to create that feeling of horror and anguish that Stephen King succeed in create and transmit it to the readers.
The feeling that something horrible was about to happen possessed me all of the time I was reading this book and that's saying something. Most of time all I wanted to do was to protect that smart, intuitive and magical little boy from all the terrible things I knew that was going to happen to him and to his family.
I love that concept of a light existing and shining inside some people, because that's what I feel some people I know have inside them, sometimes. Not so litteraly as in the book, though, of course. ( )
