This is a great book about animal camouflage. It tells why animals hide and what camouflage means. There are bright pictures of animals hiding in water, in the forest, in the dirt, and in trees. It has animals hiding in groups, changing colors and how they change with the seasons.
I liked reading this book because it had camouflaged animals that I had never seen. It has some great real life pictures of animals and lots of interesting facts about animals.
The reading series that I use has a section over animal camouflage. This would be a great book to read to help the students understand that section. It also talks about patterns, colors and textures. I usually have the students bring something from home with a pattern on it to show and discuss with the class. ( )
