meh. I'm really not buying mer people having all this technology. Plus I had a problem with her bones just not collapsing so far under the sea. If they were far enough down that humans didn't know they were there then they were far enough down to cause her problems. I didn't really get to know any of the males involved and that made it hard to care about them. Bringing in a new hero most of the way through made it even harder to care. Interesting prehensile male parts. ( )

Darkling Seas by Madelaine Montague was an interesting novel. The author is somewhat known for her preference for multiple partners/menage relationships in her novels. I was a bit surprised when I first started reading to find that there were only two heroes, but a few more came into the picture a bit later -- a little to suddenly, in my opinion.

I found that the content was more interesting than I'd originally thought. It was the first erotic novel that I'd read where the heroes were mermen, though it was very interesting to read nevertheless.

My only problem with this book is that some of the character build up and appeal to the heroine seemed a bit exaggerated and sudden. There were a lot of details that seemed to come out of nowhere and seemed more convenient for the character's situation.

I'd definitely recommend reading it, despite some of the lack of character, if you're interested in some light reading, don't mind a little flaw in your stories, and you enjoy reading novels with multiple partners. If these things would get on your nerves, then I wouldn't recommend reading. ( )
