It talks about what is in the blood, what bones are made of, This book would work very well for specific lessons. It is a very large book with a lot of details and complex vocabulary. Specific lessons would work very well out of this book. Seymour Simon has a talented knack for detail and image choice to describe the topics for any of his books. This book on the human body goes more in depth than just bones, skeletons, and organs. Simon shows us what makes up the body - cells. This is an excellent book for introducing in a science class as resource material, to show the students more than what is in their text books. Seymour Simon again partners with the Smithsonian to create a fantastic book that covers twelve major systems of the body. The pictures are fascinating! They are full -page false-color images, mostly scanned electron microscope images or x-ray of actual human body parts. Includes a glossary and index. Age 6 -10 appropriate. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
One hundred trillion cells, more than 600 muscles, and over 200 bones--these are parts of the twelve major systems that make up the human body. Technological developments have given us a detailed glimpse within our bodies and led to a greater understanding of how we function. Starting with the integumentary system (that's your skin, nails, and hair) and finishing with the reproductive system, the human body covers everything about you--from the outside to the inside. Award-winning science writer Seymour Simon has teamed up with the Smithsonian Institution on this new book about the greatest wonder of the world: the human body.
