As a non-musical person I found this
book very helpful. It has simple things you can do to help nurture and encourage your child's musicality.

Lots of info on how to choose a music teacher and when to start lessons and how to get kids to practice that isn't very relevant to me right now. This will be a good resource as my child grows. ( )

As a parent who has never had music lessons myself, I found this to be an excellent guide. I wish I had read it before my daughter chose her first instrument and started lessons because it has great advice on choosing an instrument, what a practice session should look like and what to do with a difficult piece. I highly recommend this for parents. ( )

Robert Cutietta's advice is founded in both common sense and research, the experience of student, parent and teacher. He writes clearly, has a few fun line drawings to illustrate his points, and provides a timely insight into "the music education world" for any parent who wants to start their kid off on the right musical foot. What more can you ask for in a book like this? ( )
