This was a story of a bee who went to get nectar and escaped a bird, a fish and a frog. The bee then played with a butterfly and then went back to it’s hive. The bees hear a bear growling, and realizes he’s trying to rob them of their honey. The bees came out and stung the bear until he left. This is a popup book with pull tabs to move some pictures, which I think kids really enjoy. I also like how it shows kids how honey is made in a way they can understand. ( ) This book tells the story of a happy little beehive living in a hallow tree, making honey. One bee in particular is able to retrieve his nectar while escaping a bird, fish and frog. While back at the hive the bees hear a loud growl come from outside the hive. They discover its a bear here to steal their honey so the bee goes and stings the bear right on his nose. The bees continue to sting the bear until he leaves. They then live happily ever after in their tree. The illustrations contain both interactive pull tabs and large popups. I feel this interactive element is used very wisely throughout this story. Each moving animal brings a silly and childlike quality to the story that children can easily become intrigued with. The images themselves are very colorful and full of imaginative texture and detail. This would be a great book to read to a classroom of young students. I had never read this book before. I really like the fact that the book was interactive. On each page, including the title page, has pull tabs that lets kids pull and see the animals move. The pages are also very thick and sturdy so that they don't break after only a few uses. As a adult that takes care of children, this book would be appropriate to even children in the pre-k grades. I also liked this book because of the pictures that are so characteristic of Eric Carle. The pictures are almost textured. They basically pop off the page. They are so bright and colorful. I know as a kid I was always attracted to Eric Carle's artistic style. The last reason I like this book is because of the informational background. Children might think that the page is just talking about a bird, but it is talking about how the bird catches his food. You also learn the flight pattern of a bee throughout the book. You learn the ways that a bee eats, where it likes to fly, who eats it, and where they live. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
