These prayers for kindness, for love, for gratitude, and guidance are the perfect way to begin or end a child's busy day. Give Me Grace is a poetry book of prayers for children. There is a page for each day of the week. Kindness, faith, comfort, and peace are some of the topics of the poems. This book is part of my personal library. My daughter’s middle name is Grace. We read this book almost everyday when she was very young. We love this book at my house because of the name, however, I feel like most children would enjoy the kind nature of the poems as well as the beautiful watercolor pictures. This is a book of prayers and so I would use this book in the classroom in a careful manner. God’s name is only used once in this book and I think that I may leave His name out in a public school setting in order not to offend anyone. I would use the poems to teach about relationships and caring for people. I would also use it in a lesson on days of the week. I would read the book and have the focus be on the day that we were reading it. I would then ask the children to write or draw how they would use the good quality that was mentioned in the poem for that day. This board book was given to us for one of our children’s Baptisms. We often use it in the morning, as an extension of the Morning Offering. Usually, we flip through the pages with me asking, “Is it Monday?” and the kids answering, “No...” until we get to the page for the day it really is. Then, we read the simple prayer for that day and think of ways to apply it to our day. As a bonus, the kids enjoy finding the animals in the simple drawings on each page, as well as pointing out other everyday objects. This is a great baby to toddler and beyond book. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
