This is a great book for parents and teachers to use with children learning math. It uses fun and instructive activities that students and adults can engage in together. It mainly deals with topics of number sense and algebra. Many examples in this book use manipulatives that everyone can easily get, such as beans, blocks, toothpicks, and calculators. Every activity has a sidebar that explains about the math involved in the activity or its connnections to other topics in school or in the real world. This book is easy to follow and understand. The activities are fun. I used one activity in my class when I taught the area and perimeter of rectangles. ( )
