Who is Jesus? by Carolyn Nystrom. Epiphany Oviedo ELCA library section 9A: Juvenile, gr. K-5, Religion and Values. This book is one in a series of books about Christianity by Nystrom. We have about eight in the collection, called Children’s Bible Basics. They cover a broad range of topics for Sunday School age kids about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the church and faith. If kids learn these Bible basics they are well on their way to knowing the essence of Christian tenets.
The drawings are colorful, but they could be better. But I won’t quibble because the information is so important. The series is from 1980, so they are older books, but nevertheless, the information is presented in a way most kids can understand and remember. Look for the whole series in our library in the juvenile religious section, 9A. Read them often with your child beginning in kindergarten. We have many good books in this section for emerging readers, in fact, the shelves are fairly bursting at the seams. Luther said, “one can never have too many good books!” ( )
