Relationships are starting to become a little deeper which is adding character to the characters as well. ( ) The blurb is the first story. The rest of the book is about their summer break. The boys follow Haruhi and all the over-the-top comedy ensues. But the twins are the ones that the story really focus' on. The trouble that is caused does bring out the best in the twins but Tamaki gives up something important about Huruhi. Normally I dislike heroes in romance because they are not really nice but Tamaki is. He is very nice and really kind to everyone. In fact that is what got him in trouble in the first story in this volume. He was being himself before anyone knew what he was like. So he was Tamaki to Ayame and she thought it meant more than it did. So she thinks that he is very shallow but they work it out. Tamaki apologizes and then Ayame goes about trying to him better. Poor Tamaki will get himself into trouble no matter what he tries. I give this volume Five out of Five stars. I developed an interest in reading this manga in a slightly unusual way. While watching vids on YouTube I came across a fan one with clips from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles/xxxHolic and Ouran High School Host Club. The clip was interesting enough to inspire me to buy imported anime of the series, which has proven very slow in coming, and in the meantime I thought I'd take the manga out from the library to get a better idea what to expect from my spur of the moment purchase. So far I'm up to volume 5, hence my review here. I will say that starting it the storyline reminded me a lot of "Here is Greenwood" which was okay but not my favorite manga. Had I not taken out the first five volumes all at the same time, I might not have read past the first. However, I'm actually growing to like these novels much more as I go along so I'm very glad I stuck with the series. The story is of a scholarship student, Haruhi, who has received a scholarship to the elite Ouran High School where the majority of the student body are the children of the filthy rich. While looking for a quiet place to study Haruhi happens upon the lair of the Host Club, a club of 6 young men dedicated to fulfilling the wishes of the girls (their clients) at their school. Haruhi is mistaken as another male student by the flamboyant president of the club, Tamaki, and in the face of his enthusiasm Haruhi backs into and breaks an $80,000.00 vase. What starts off as a debt to be paid working for the host club gradually develops into Haruhi's acceptance into the unusual group and her growing relationships with the members. The artwork is nice although I still have a bit of trouble telling the difference between Tamaki and the twins. Certainly my favorite character, for both the way his is drawn and his quiet personality and strength, is Mori. Especially at this end of this volume! His personality shift while being sleepy totally caught me off guard and was pretty funny. So, despite my first impression, I really am enjoying this series and I feel much better about investing in the anime as well. It should be good! I'd recommend this manga series to teens and up with open minds, as some of the characters have some very odd proclivities. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
