Along with the rhyming this book incorporates, it also serves as a wonderful introductory book for young readers. The vocabulary within the book is simple, but also blends with the plot to prevail the Itsy Bitsy Spider's trials. I loved reading this book simply because it's always had a special place in my heart; it's been one of my favorite 'traditional' books to date because of the inspiring message that one can gather from it. There are many learning schemes that are within this book, and that's exactly why I will be introducing this and encouraging my future students to read this wonderful book. ( )

This is a great book to engage the students in something they can relate to. Full of rhyming and poetry this book is about a spider who struggles to go up thes pout but never gives up. THis is also a great book to teach children about not giving up and if you fall down just hop right back up. ( )

I enjoyed reading this story for two different reasons. First, I enjoyed how the text was different on each page. It would range from being print to bold, the words going straight across to being rounded and a fancy font to attract the reader’s eye. For example, the font says, “down came the rain and washed the spider out.” The sentence was curved to fit about the curve of the pipe illustrator on the page. Which brings me to my next point in the story, the illustrations. The spider is the only red thing in the story. This allows the reader to point out where the spider is on each page they read. The illustrations are very colorful and that draws your attention when reading the story. For example, the illustrations show each step the spider is taking to get back to his web. The main point of this story is to never give up on where you are going, no matter the situations you have to go through. ( )

When I first picked up this book to read, I thought it was just going to have the classic "Itsy Bitsy Spider" in it, but I was wrong! This book gives a silly twist on the classic children's song. The big idea for this story is to show children that they must never give up on a dream even when things get hard. A moment that I thought was very goody in the story was when the spider puts his swimming goggles on so he will not get caught in the rain again! I think the author can capture the reader's attention and make anyone giggle with this line. I think a very important aspect of this book is that the author emphasized specific words. In the line, "Itsy's running, all puffed out, but in the distance, sees the spout." The words: Itsy's, puffed, and spout are all in italics. This is great for young readers and it was also enjoyable for me as well. It helps to show what the author wants the reader to focus on. The illustrations emphasize the italicized words by making those objects stand out in the pictures. The pages are also thicker and stiff, which is a great quality for young children that are working on motor movements. ( )

This story is one of my favorites. It's a story of Itsy, a spider, who is trying to get back home but is having trouble when it rains. It's a continuation of the short song "The Itsy Bitsy Spider". I would read this story to pre-k-5th graders. The illustrations are very fun. The sentences all rhyme and as a reader, I find it hard not to sing it while moving along with the story. ( )
